KOTA KINABALU:
Official results in 22 out of 25 divisions in Sabah show PKR deputy president Mohamed Azmin Ali leading his challenger Rafizi Ramli by 1,611 votes.

The official results, which were posted on the party’s website, have Azmin with 9,325 votes against Rafizi’s 7,714 votes.

Three divisions have yet to put up their results. They are Tawau, Keningau and Pensiangan.

Tawau’s unofficial result showed Azmin leading Rafizi by about 500 votes on Saturday.

However, Sabah PKR election committee chief coordinator Rosli Masaliku said the central leadership would probably order new election in Tawau and Keningau within a week.

An altercation involving Rafizi and several PKR members from Selangor in Keningau on Saturday was blamed for the cancellation of the result.

It is unclear why Tawau’s result is also withheld.

“As for Pensiangan, there may be a continuation of polls from the other day because there were many who came to vote but did not manage to do so,” Rosli said.

He said the central election committee would decide on the matter.

“Meetings are still being held,” he added.
