
He said 95% of the ministry’s contracts under the previous government were offered through restricted tenders and direct negotiations.
“It is for this reason that in Sabah, the ministry cancelled the contracts and initiated fresh open tenders,” he said.
Xavier said several projects were cancelled but did not provide details.
On Budget 2019, to be tabled in Parliament on Friday, he said the ministry had submitted a list of development projects, including in Sabah.
“There is indeed an allocation for Sabah because of the need to develop infrastructure in the state, especially in relation to water which is handled by this ministry,” he said.
