KUALA LUMPUR:
Rafizi Ramli, who is vying for the deputy presidency, said he does not expect the votes in Selangor to favour him in the PKR polls.

The former Pandan MP also conceded that his chances compared to Mohamed Azmin Ali were 45:55.

“But what is surprising is the margin thus far as Selangor is considered Azmin’s stronghold.

“But so far, I am trailing by 1,000 votes although I expected to be behind by 5,000 votes.

“This is a good sign,” he said when met at the polling centre here.

Last night, it was reported that Rafizi was leading Azmin by 963 votes after 11 states had concluded the polls.

This also included the results of 16 divisions in Selangor which showed Rafizi had obtained 40,853 votes against Azmin’s 39,890 votes.

The remaining six divisions in Selangor, namely Tanjong Karang, Kuala Selangor, Ampang, Pandan, Shah Alam and Hulu Langat, are in the midst of carrying out their elections today.
