KUALA LUMPUR:
Kinabatangan MP Bung Moktar Radin has apologised to the Dewan Rakyat and to all female MPs for using the F-word in the Dewan Rakyat two months ago.

“I regret using the word. I assure everyone that this will not happen again.

“I hope everyone accepts my apology,” he said, shortly after a motion was filed by Ampang MP Zuraida Kamaruddin to refer him to the Rights and Privileges Committee.

Zuraida said Bung Moktar had used a rude word and offended other MPs, especially women, adding that it tarnished the prestige and good name of the house.

The motion was at the top of the Parliament’s order paper after the question-and-answer session.

Bung Moktar used the word in the Dewan Rakyat during a debate on the Sales Tax Bill 2008 on Aug 7.

He retracted it after being ticked off by several MPs and Dewan Rakyat Deputy Speaker Rashid Hasnon.

The incident was sparked after Willie Mongin (PH-Puncak Borneo) asked Bung Moktar if he had gone to a casino.

To this, Bung Moktar said: “What is this? You are rude. You don’t deserve to sit here.

“Gangster,” he added. “You want to fight? F*** you.”
