“If we need to delay the election for another month to improve the process, then we should continue.

“But if we can’t manage it within a month, we should go back to the manual system,” the PKR Wanita chief told reporters after visiting several illegal plastic recycling factories in Kuala Langat today.

She also suggested that more IT experts be involved in the election, saying it would be better for them to be posted at each polling station in case any issues arose with the system.

The PKR election which kicked off on Saturday came under scrutiny following glitches and alleged irregularities in the e-voting system which led to heated arguments and even scuffles at polling centres in Kedah and Penang.

PKR secretary-general Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, who came under fire over the matter, said he was not solely to blame as the decision to use the e-voting system was made by the top leadership.

However other party leaders, most recently deputy Youth chief Afif Bahardin, have urged Saifuddin to take responsibility for the fracas.
