Report lodged over a posting calling Dr Mahathir 'binatang' and 'haram jadah'.

SEREMBAN:
Deputy Communications and Multimedia Minister Eddin Syazlee Shith has lodged a police report against a social media account owner over a post seen as threatening and insulting Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

Eddin, who is also the Negeri Sembilan PPBM deputy chief, said the post was slanderous and provocative, and could be seen as a threat to the safety of the prime minister.

“His action was clearly racial in nature and could threaten national integrity and it was made directly to jeopardise the existing solidarity between the multi-racial community in our country.”

“We want him to be called up to explain and be responsible for his action,” he told reporters after making the police report at the Seremban 2 police station accompanied by 50 PPBM members tonight.

A user identified as Mohd Mozas had made derogatory remarks against Mahathir.

The posting reads: “Mahathir… dengar sini!! 75% Melayu sekarang sedang mohon hang mampos esok! Haram jadah punya binatang!!” (“Mahathir…listen! 75% of the Malays are now asking that you die tomorrow! You worthless animal!”)
