PETALING JAYA: A founding member of PPBM is tipped to replace former Election Commission chief Abdul Rashid Abdul Rahman as the party’s vice-president, says a source.
It is understood that the party will announce Redzuan Yusof, the Alor Gajah MP, as one of its vice-presidents, during an event to celebrate its first anniversary tomorrow.
The 61-year-old former Petronas engineer is currently the entrepreneur development minister.
The source said that Rashid had expressed his intention to retire.
Rashid, who served for eight years as the EC chairman, has been recently appointed as chairman of Putrajaya’s Electoral Reform Committee, which was set up to review election laws.
