Its Chairman Ramon Navaratnam said the people have been waiting with bated breath for the revelations of the CEP report for over 100 days and would be disappointed by possibly being denied the sight of the important report.
“The rakyat have the natural right to be fully informed of the thoughts, ideas and issues raised and presented to our own government,” he said in a statement today.
He added that the government should leave it to the people and the voters to judge the report’s merits, feasibility and acceptability in the best long-term interests of the people and country.
Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad at an event today said the CEP report would not be made public as it is the business of the government.
He said CEP’s duties are to investigate and present their report to him for further action.
