Afif going for PKR Youth chief post, Hilman for deputy

This comes in the run-up to the PKR nominations this Sunday.

PKR deputy youth chief Dr Afif Bahardin has announced that he will be gunning for the party’s youth chief post while Muhammad Hilman Idham will be standing as his deputy.

In a joint statement, the two members announced their candidacy following talks with party de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim and grassroots leaders in Penang and Selangor.

Afif is presently Penang executive councillor while Hilman is political secretary to Economic Affairs Minister Mohamed Azmin Ali. Hilman is also a Selangor assembly member.

“PKR Youth is the future of PKR. In the name of our fight for justice, we will work together as a team to narrate the future of Malaysia Baru and promote the reformasi agenda,” they said in a brief statement today.

Nominations for the party polls will open on Sunday, with 900,000 members expected to vote in divisions and for the central leadership. The polls are expected to end in November.
