PUTRAJAYA: United States Secretary of State Mike Pompeo begins a two-day working visit to Malaysia today as part of a Southeast Asian trip that includes Singapore and Indonesia.
He is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad tomorrow, Wisma Putra said in a statement.
“The visit will provide a great opportunity for both Malaysia and the United States of America to discuss a wide range of bilateral, regional and international issues of mutual interest,” it said.
Washington and Kuala Lumpur improved bilateral ties in April 2014, with both sides sharing a diverse and expanding partnership in trade, investment, security, environmental cooperation as well as educational and cultural relations.
