“However, there are still a few things that need to be added, including an interview with the relevant parties as instructed by the Attorney-General. This was also referred back to the AGC,” he said.
In the aftermath of the May 9 general election, Musa was sworn in as Sabah chief minister on May 10. Two days later, however, Head of State Juhar Mahiruddin swore in Shafie Apdal as the 15th Sabah chief minister.
Musa was reportedly in Kuala Lumpur on May 14 to attend an Umno meeting but had failed to return to Sabah after Juhar lodged a police report against him.
Juhar claimed Musa, who is the Sungai Sibuga assemblyman, had intimidated him.
On June 26, Musa issued a statement that he was in London for medical and personal reasons and also stated that he left Malaysia legally on May 16.
On another issue, Ramli said police were investigating the series of fires in squatter areas and water villages in the state last month.
He said police were looking to identify the main cause of the fires so that further action could be taken.
“During the preliminary investigation, it was found that the fires in Kampung Air Hujung and Kampung Air Tengah in Semporna yesterday were due to people burning trash in the area.
“However, further investigation is still being conducted in the villages and also in Kampung Cenderamata Dua in Likas with the collaboration of the Fire and Rescue Department.”
He also said the police were investigating allegations by some parties who said the fires were due to sabotage.
