PETALING JAYA: The wife of the prime minister, Siti Hasmah Mohamad Ali, today said every day is a blessing for her and her husband, Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
She said being in their 90s, every morning was welcome.
“When I open my eyes every morning, the first thing I do is to thank God for blessing us with another day to do good for others.
“Every day is a blessing for us,” she said in her speech.
She is 92 while Mahathir celebrated his 93rd birthday earlier this month.
Siti Hasmah spoke after being bestowed “The Mother of the Nation” title for her contributions to the betterment of the country.
The honour was given to her by the Malaysia World Chamber of Commerce during an event called “Women Empowerment”.
