RSN Rayer (PH-Jelutong) made the remark when he stood up to ask Communications and Multimedia Minister Gobind Singh Deo a supplementary question in the Dewan Rakyat today.

He also expressed his appreciation for the government’s decision to show the World Cup matches live over RTM.

“We are thankful for the concern shown by the Pakatan Harapan government. Under the Barisan Nasional, we had to pay for everything, even to watch football too we had to pay.

“The football competition this time was historic because we saw that world football giants such as Argentina, Germany and England were all defeated. Like Barisan Nasional in Malaysia,” said Rayer whose remark was greeted by jeers and laughter from other MPs.

The 2018 World Cup final saw France lifting the trophy for the second time after defeating Croatia 4-2.
