In a statement, Selangor CID chief Fadzil Ahmat said there were two outstanding warrants for Jamal in relation to two criminal cases.
The Indonesian police had arrested the colourful politician three days ago.
Bukit Aman issued a warrant of arrest for Jamal after he vanished from the Ampang Puteri Specialist Hospital, where he was receiving treatment for back pains, hours after he was charged there before a magistrate on May 25.
He pleaded not guilty to three charges and was allowed bail of RM3,000 for each of the offences.
On June 8, his lawyer, Imran Tamrin, said Jamal could not be contacted.
Jamal had failed in his bid for the post of Umno Youth chief in the recent party elections.
