Body parts found in 2 suitcases along Gombak River

A landscape worker spotted a leg sticking out from one of the bags and notified police.

KUALA LUMPUR:
Two suitcases filled with human parts were discovered on the bank of the Gombak River near the Putra World Trade Centre here about noon today.

A landscape worker spotted a leg sticking out from one of the bags and immediately notified police.

Police found the torso in one bag and the legs, hands and head in the other.

The gender and identity of the person had yet to be ascertained.

Dang Wangi deputy district police chief Supt Rudy Abdullah confirmed the discovery of the body parts and said the remains had been sent to Kuala Lumpur Hospital for a post-mortem.

He said police had recorded statements from two homeless men and a woman in the area to assist them in their investigations.
