Bureau chief Dr Muhammad Faiz Na’aman said PPBM would not compromise in the matter if any of the party’s members was found to be responsible.
“PPBM views seriously any attempt by its members to use political positions to secure business tenders for personal interest,” he said outside the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) headquarters here after lodging a report on the matter.
He said the report was aimed at finding out who was the “mastermind”.
“I hope the authorities can conduct the investigation in a transparent, fair and decisive manner,” he said.
“If our members are involved in this scandal, disciplinary action (against them) will be taken immediately,” he added.
Yesterday, PPBM Youth chief Syed Saddiq Abdul Rahman had also urged MACC and the police to conduct a thorough investigation so that those responsible could be duly dealt with.
Bukit Bintang PPBM Youth chief Mohd Noorhisyam Abdul Karim also lodged a police report on the matter to clear his name over the allegations.
On June 14, DBKL Licensing and Petty Traders Development Department director Anwar Mohd Zain was quoted by The Star as saying that he had reversed his decision to reject an application from Noorhisyam for the lots at Jalan Masjid India after receiving a letter of support from DAP’s Bukit Bintang MP Fong Kui Lun.
Fong, however, said he had insisted that except for the charges imposed by DBKL, no one else should get rental fees from the traders.
Following the allegation, Muhammad Faiz, who is also a PPBM Supreme Council member, lodged a police report on June 14.
