Human Resource Minister M. Kulasegaran said he would form a committee to look into complaints brought up at a recent forum, after which three members of the HRDF board had voluntarily resigned.
Kulasegaran said the position of HRDF chief executive CM Vignaesvaran Jeyandran would be decided by the same committee and announced by the end of next week.
“I don’t want to pre-judge the issue,” said Kulasegaran when asked to comment further on the alleged misappropriation of the RM300 million.
“We will be announcing the outcome by the end of next week,” he said after opening a family day for the Malaysian Tamil media.
The three board members who had resigned were said to have been involved in training projects.
A former board member, R A Thiagaraja, said on Thursday that he intended to take legal action after a report was filed with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission which he said contained a “slanderous, unfounded and completely baseless” attack against him.
The HRDF is an agency under the Human Resource Ministry that manages a training fund for human resource development.
