Put aside differences, join in state Raya celebration, says Warisan

The new Parti Warisan Sabah-led state government is reaching out to leaders of the previous administration in the Hari Raya spirit to invite them to attend the state-level celebration of the festival.

Deputy Chief Minister Jaujan Sambakong said today that invitations had been extended to the opposition members to attend the celebration at the Yayasan Sabah grounds in Likas here on the third day of Raya.

“Yes, we have officially invited them. I hope they will attend.

“In the spirit of Raya, let’s put aside our political differences.

“We are Sabahans and Sabah belongs to all of us,” said Jaujan, a Warisan vice-president, to reporters after inspecting preparations for the celebration.

He was accompanied by state secretary Sukarti Wakiman.

Sabah governor Juhar Mahiruddin, Chief Minister Shafie Apdal, members of the new state Cabinet and foreign guests are expected at the event which will begin at 10am.

More than 3,000 people are expected to attend the celebration.
