Japan hotel staff line up for grand send-off

Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad receives a VIP send-off at the end of his working visit to Japan.

PETALING JAYA:
Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad received a grand send-off by hotel staff at the conclusion of his three-day working visit to Japan this week.

Staff members lined the hotel foyer as Mahathir and his wife Dr Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali, who were in Japan for the 24th Nikkei Conference, made their way to their car.

They waved and saluted as Mahathir entered the vehicle and left for the airport in his official convoy.

Mahathir was in Japan from June 10 to 12, in his first trip abroad after being appointed as prime minister.

There, he met with his counterpart Shinzo Abe and attended various events on Malaysia-Japan relations.

He also praised the Japanese work ethics, urging Malaysians to emulate their thinking and value systems in undertaking the task at hand.
