Y Kohlia, 43, had worked for the central bank for 12 years before she was sacked in July 2017. She claimed she did not receive any advanced notice.
An internal investigation was conducted in May and June 2017, where she was also accused of writing two press statements in support of PSM during the 13th general election.
The former manager of Bank Negara’s Museum and Art Gallery denied all charges.
Accompanied by Oppressed People’s Network (Jerit) and several PSM members including secretary-general A Sivarajan, Kohlia turned up at the Prime Minister’s Office today to hand over a memorandum.
However, the group ended up waiting for almost 40 minutes outside the office as they claimed the staff were not sure if they should accept the memorandum.
“We asked them to come out and take the memorandum from us but they were too afraid and had no experience dealing with such a thing,” PSM central committee member S Arutchelvan said.
Arutchelvan said that after he and the others explained the situation calmly to the staff, a representative finally accepted the memorandum.
