“I don’t think he’s in any position to instruct the AG because he’s no longer the CM,” Shafie said after attending the state assembly’s special sitting today.
The Parti Warisan Sabah president said he had already advised the state AG to attend the court case.
“The state AG will be present there to listen to what is happening because we have interests which are the same like Sarawak’s.
“But of course we are taking a different kind of route. I have already indicated our interests to Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad and some of the top leaders within Pakatan Harapan.
“It’s quite clear what Sabahans want, so I just follow that… whatever is due in terms of royalty and other minerals too,” Shafie said.
Musa, in his statement yesterday, said he would instruct the state AG to make an application for the state government to intervene in Petronas’ legal bid to claim ownership over the country’s petroleum resources.
Musa, who signed off as the chief minister, said in a statement that this was to safeguard Sabah’s oil and mineral resources.
