SHAH ALAM:
Selangor ruler Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah has given his consent for the new Selangor menteri besar to be sworn in on June 19.

The sultan’s private secretary, Mohamad Munir Bani, said today the swearing-in ceremony would be held at the Balairung Seri (throne room) of Istana Alam Shah in Klang.

Azmin, 54, was sworn in for a second term as the Selangor menteri besar on May 11. He is set to vacate the post as he has been appointed the economic affairs minister in the federal government.

Among the elected representatives tipped to replace him as menteri besar are Seri Setia assemblyman Shaharuddin Badaruddin, Sungai Tua assemblyman Amirudin Shari, Sungai Kandis assemblyman Mat Shuhaimi Shafiei, Ijok assemblyman Idris Ahmad and Paya Jaras assemblyman Mohd Khairuddin Othman.
