He said this was why he did not show up at the police station.
He said he believed the police were being pressured by the Pakatan Harapan government and asked Home Minister Muhyiddin Yassin to guarantee he would not be mistreated when he presented himself to the police.
In a statement, Jamal said this was despite the fact that police told him he was only required to come to the Ampang police station to complete the documentation for his police bail.
“I do not reject being subjected to the law but not when my name is blacklisted by immigration and put on the wanted list like a dangerous criminal.
“I have also heard that I will be arrested under an act and I would not be able to be bailed out.
“The way I have been treated is as though I am not a citizen of the country although my rights are guaranteed by the Federal Constitution.
“My house was raided, my family was harassed and left in fear. The way the police were hunting me down was as though they have been under pressure by those in power.
“I was made to look as if I was involved in some serious crime, a terrorist and was a traitor to this country that I love,” he said in a statement.
“I am the new victim of those who hold grudges.
“I am being made the new victim of someone who holds grudges… but I accept this with an open heart.
“We talk about the rule of law but in this case that involves me, there are hidden hands that might cost me to be arrested again for something more serious.
Jamal went missing from the Ampang Puteri Medical Centre last Friday, hours after he was charged there with three offences.
The Selangor Criminal Investigation Department said Jamal, who was being treated at the private hospital, had left the building while his bail documents were being prepared.
The magistrate has offered a bail of RM3,000 for each of the three offences he was charged with.
Jamal last week claimed trial to a charge of causing a public nuisance by smashing beer bottles with a sledgehammer in front of the Selangor state secretariat building last year.
He was charged under Section 290 of the Penal Code which carries a fine of RM400 on conviction.
He also faces two other charges related to firearms and rioting.
