KUALA LUMPUR:
The Pakatan Harapan (PH) government does not support media blackouts, says Communications and Multimedia Minister Gobind Singh Deo, after a Sarawak leader accused state broadcast station RTM of not airing the views of Barisan Nasional (BN).

Gobind said the policy adopted by PH was that of press freedom.

“We do not promote or support media blackouts. That is something the previous government did and we disapproved of it.”

Sarawak BN minister Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah told Dayak Daily that RTM was blacking out their news since PH took over the federal government.

“He is welcome to write to me about it officially if he wants to, and if he does, I will certainly look into it,” Gobind said in a posting on Twitter last night.
