KUALA LUMPUR:
A convoy of vehicles accompanied by police outriders left Najib Razak’s Taman Duta residence this morning, as scores of reporters continue to gather in the posh neighbourhood to get the latest development on an ongoing raid that has so far led to the seizure of items and cash worth millions of ringgit.

It is believed that Najib will spend time today in Pekan, his first after winning the constituency in the May 9 polls, but losing the government to Pakatan Harapan.

He is expected to arrive at his private residence Seri Kenangan at noon, and will join Maghrib and the nightly Tarawih prayers.

It comes as Najib and his wife Rosmah Mansor complained of police misconduct during raids in several private homes linked to them.

Through his lawyer, Najib criticised the “cavalier and irresponsible” manner in which the raid was conducted.

“This is reflected by the manner in which police personnel helped themselves to food and chocolates in the refrigerator,” he said.
