KUALA LUMPUR: Johor ruler Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar has called for a new prime minister to be appointed immediately.
In a video on his Facebook page, he said he was looking forward to working with the new government in the interests of the Johor people.
“I hope the national palace will appoint the new prime minister today. This is in the interests of the rakyat, not myself.
“Therefore, the government must be appointed now without wasting anymore time, even the prime minister – now,” he said.
He also congratulated the parties that had achieved their goals in the May 9 polls.
“I ask all to respect the voice of the people, where the people wanted a new government,” he added.
