The 30 “Mahathirs” and “Anwars” were met with laughter, while some customers also asked to take selfies with them.

There were many shots taken of “Mahathir” and “Anwar” shaking hands, in an attempt to convey that the long enmity between the two was now over.
The group included PKR secretary-general Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, who is contesting the Pantai Jerejak state seat; Balik Pulau candidate Muhammad Bakhtiar Wan Chik; and Batu Uban candidate A Kumaresan.
The candidates received the endorsement of “Mahathir” and “Anwar”, who also expressed hope that the voters would support them.
PKR’s Bayan Baru candidate Sim Tze Tzin said he had come up with the idea as he was tired of the authorities cracking down on his campaign posters.
Sim, who will be defending his seat in the May 9 election, said he had printed over 500 of the cut-outs which he would distribute to opposition members and supporters in the country.
“They have cut out Anwar and Mahathir from our billboards. Our members are certainly very angry about this. So they are here to help campaign for Pakatan Harapan (PH).
“In the next four days, we want to send ‘Anwar’ and ‘Mahathir’ all over the country to campaign for PH candidates,” he said.
