PETALING JAYA: An odd-job man who punched a security guard because the victim had frowned at him found himself heading to prison for two months today after failing to settle the RM2,000 fine.
Muhammad Qayyum Ridzuan, 30, was meted out the maximum fine by magistrate Nor Ariffin Hisham after he pleaded guilty to committing the offence on S Santhanam, 62, at the security guardhouse at Apartment 3 Element, Bandar Putra Permai, Seri Kembangan, Petaling, here, at 3am on April 20.
According to the facts of the case presented by deputy public prosecutor Fazeedah Faik, the victim was on duty at the guardhouse when Qayyum arrived in a car and parked his vehicle at the lobby of the apartment.
After getting out of the car, Qayyum confronted the victim with a terse remark for frowning at him and punched him in the face.
