PETALING JAYA:
PKR Youth chief Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad today confirmed his nomination by Pakatan Harapan to contest the Setiawangsa parliamentary constituency this coming election.

In a statement, he acknowledged that Barisan Nasional (BN) had never lost Setiawangsa.

“But I believe that to change the federal government, we need to win marginal seats such as Setiawangsa, and I offer myself for this task.”

He also said it was not easy to leave his Seri Setia seat which he has held since 2008.

“But I leave knowing that Seri Setia is a better place thanks to the achievements of the Pakatan governments since 2008.”

In 2008, Nik Nazmi won the Seri Setia seat by a 2,863-vote majority against BN’s Seripah Noli Syed Hussin.

He defended his seat in the following election, beating BN’s Abdul Halim Samad with a 4,663-vote majority.

The Setiawangsa parliamentary seat is currently held by Ahmad Fauzi Zahari of BN.
