Azmin: Don’t speculate about Tian Chua

I don't have any list, says deputy president on whether names of election nominees he put forward had been rejected.

PETALING JAYA:
PKR deputy president Azmin Ali has urged that there not be speculation about vice-president Tian Chua, who has called an imminent press conference at which he is rumoured to be announcing his resignation.

Azmin, attending a party event in Permatang Pauh earlier today, was asked about Tian Chua. He said he did not know anything about Tian Chua resigning, and urged everyone “not to speculate”.

He also dismissed talk of a party dispute over election candidates for Selangor.

The Star had reported this morning that up to eight names put forward by Azmin had been dropped or rejected by party president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.

Azmin said the PKR selection process was “very transparent” and the selection committee included the party leaders, election director and heads of the Wanita and Youth wings.

“I don’t have any list. It is a party list,” he said. “We will announce the full list of candidates in less than 48 hours,” he said.
