Wan Azizah’s signature needed for PH candidates

Saifuddin Nasution gives a reminder that nomination papers of Pakatan members must have authorisation from PKR president.

KUALA PILAH: Prospective election candidates of Pakatan Harapan have been reminded that PKR president Wan Azizah Wan Ismail’s signature is needed on their authorisation letters for them to contest on the PKR ticket.

PKR secretary-general Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said the appointment letters were now ready.

Pakatan Harapan candidates in the 222 parliamentary seats will all contest on the PKR ticket and use PKR’s logo as the common election symbol.

“If the authorisation letter is not signed by the president, then the letter is not valid,” he said at a PH rally in Air Mawang Johol, Negeri Sembilan, last night.

Present at the rally were Wan Azizah, who is also PH president, PH chairman Dr Mahathir Mohamad, PH vice-president and Amanah president Mohamad Sabu and Negeri Sembilan PH chairman Aminuddin Harun.

The use of the PKR ticket was announced on April 6 as Pakatan Harapan has been unable to obtain registration with the Registrar of Societies because of problems with Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia’s documents.

The High Court will decide tomorrow whether to grant PPBM leave to obtain a judicial review of the Registrar’s order suspending PPBM for a month.
