Court sets May 28 for mention in murder of Indonesian maid

This after the DPP reveals that the prosecution has yet to receive the post-mortem and chemist reports.

The Magistrate’s Court here today fixed May 28 for mention of the case involving a woman charged with murdering her Indonesian maid.

Magistrate Dianne Ningrad Nor Azahar set the date after deputy public prosecutor Hamzah Azhan informed the court that the prosecution had yet to receive the post-mortem and chemist reports on Adelina Lisao.

On Feb 21, Ambika MA Shan, 60, was charged with the murder of Adelina, 28, at her house in Medan Kota Permai 2, Taman Kota Permai 2 here at 4pm on Feb 10.

Ambika was charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code and faces the mandatory death sentence upon conviction.

Also present at today’s proceeding was Indonesian General-Consul in Penang Iwanshah Wibisono, who told reporters that the victim’s next-of-kin had received RM69,300 in compensation.
