“PRS will remain stable as its leaders and members are disciplined and totally loyal to the party and Barisan Nasional (BN),” party president James Masing said today.
He added that there was no reason for internal strife as the two who were dropped had known of their fate for a long time.
“One requested to be replaced due to age. The other requested personally to me not to be renominated for GE14, after some disciplinary issues,” Masing told FMT.
The two are Joseph Entulu (Selangau) and William Nyalau (Lubok Antu). Entulu is PRS deputy president and minister in the Prime Minister’s Department.
Four others who will be retained are Joseph Salang (Julau), Wilson Ugak (Hulu Rajang), Aaron Ago Dagang (Kanowit) and Masir Kujat (Sri Aman).
It is learnt that Rita Insol and Robert Pasang Alam, both lawyers, will be the party’s new standard bearers for Selangau and Lubok Antu.
PRS is a breakaway party from the now-defunct Parti Bansa Dayak Sarawak (PBDS). PBDS was formed after an internal tussle in the Sarawak National Party (SNAP).
According to Masing, PRS’ candidate list for GE14 has been submitted to the prime minister and chief minister.
He also expressed confidence that the candidates would get the green light from the BN leadership.
