
According to him, there had been 40 winners in four categories: men’s open, women’s open, men’s senior and women’s senior.
“The prize money for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place was RM3,000, RM2,000 and RM1,000, respectively. The 4th and 5th placing were supposed to receive RM500 each and the 6th to 10th placing were supposed to receive RM200 each.
“The total prize money for each category is RM8,000. The total prize money for all 4 categories is RM32,000,” he said in a statement today.

Ong said according to reports he had received, the winners were forced to stay back past midnight for the closing and prize-giving ceremony.
“But the winners were not given their prize money on that night. And despite many attempts by some of the winners to contact the race organisers, they have not received their prize money until this day,” he added.


Saying that the event had been sponsored by Selangor Umno information chief Zein Isma Ismail, Ong urged him to immediately pay up the prize money to the winners.
The Sungai Buloh Night Run 2018 was held on Feb 10. According to the event website, runners were required to pay participation fees of RM75 each.
The race was organised by Sekretariat Guru Aktif 1 Selangor (GA1S), Jawatankuasa Perwakilan Penduduk Parlimen Subang, and Koordinator Pembangunan Persekutuan Dewan Undangan Negeri, and was supported by the education ministry.
