Gymnast secures Malaysia’s 5th C-Games gold

Amy Kwan takes home the gold medal while fellow Malaysian Koi Sie Yan comes in third.

GOLD COAST:
Rhythmic gymnast Amy Kwan Dict Weng put on a sterling performance in the individual ribbon event to clinch Malaysia’s fifth gold medal in the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games today.

In the event at the Coomera Indoor Sports Centre here, Kwan collected 13.200 points while compatriot Koi Sie Yan won the bronze with 12.000 points.

Cyprus’ Diamanto Evripidou picked up the silver.

Overall, the Malaysian rhythmic gymnastics squad won one gold medal, three silver and three bronze.

Koi also won a silver medal in the individual clubs event today with 13.850 points.

Sophie Crane from Canada clinched the gold medal with 13.950 points and Evripidou settled for the bronze with 13.550 points.

Kwan finished in fourth place after scoring 13.350 points.

Koi has won three silver medals so far through the team, individual ball and clubs events.
