
Putrajaya Mobile is integrated with Google Maps to search for locations and to access current traffic situations in Putrajaya.
Other information loaded in the Putrajaya Mobile app include the locations of tourist attractions, public facilities, car parks and information on events organised in Putrajaya.
Putrajaya Corporation president Hasim Ismail, when speaking to reporters after launching Putrajaya Mobile at Presint 9 Neighbourhood Complex said the function of the panic button was to assist Putrajaya residents and visitors during an emergency.
“The panic button can be used in 39 locations in Putrajaya. Just press the button and a signal will be sent.
“The picture of the individual who pressed the button will be recorded and sent to the control room. The approach is to control abuse of the function,” he said.
Also launched today was the cashless application, PrimeKeeper Digital Wallet, which can be used as an alternative payment for cash transactions at the Presint 9 Foodcourt, shops around Putrajaya as well as the DPulze Shopping Centre and Shaftsbury Square in Cyberjaya.
In his speech, Hasim said Putrajaya Corporation was outlining the Smart Putrajaya Blueprint with the aim of enabling Putrajaya to achieve a good communication network, resource management and efficient service as well as a safe city.
“The initiative, outlined under the Smart Putrajaya Blueprint, involves seven domains, namely smart transportation and mobility, efficient governance, smart infrastructure and utilities, smart city security system, dynamic economy using the Internet of Things, and the smart community environment.”
Meanwhile, MCMC chairman Halim Shafie said the Smart Putrajaya Blueprint initiative would make Putrajaya among the first cities in the country with smart features by 2020.
