PUTRAJAYA: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has called on those with information on the land issue in Ijok, Selangor, to provide the commission with the necessary information and details.

Its deputy chief commissioner (operations), Azam Baki, said the MACC was currently studying documents related to the Ijok land deal which were seized from five companies, including a legal firm, last Wednesday.

As investigations on the matter were still ongoing, he appealed for time and space to peruse the information the MACC had gathered.

“We hope the public will assist us with whatever information on the land issue,” he told reporters after the MACC Chinese New Year celebration for the Chinese community here today.

Last Monday, the Selangor Barisan Nasional said it would lodge a report with the MACC on the Ijok land issue.

Its information chief, Mohamed Satim Diman, said several settlers would also lodge reports with the MACC over dissatisfaction on compensation they had received, which was not according to current market price

On the Sarawak match-fixing probe, Azam said the investigations were still ongoing on the two Sarawak football players and a man believed to be a ‘bookie’.

“Despite being released on bail, the trio are not free from the charge. Again, I’m stressing, let us complete our investigation. They are still not free,” he added.

On Feb 14, the three were nabbed by the MACC after the Football Association of Sarawak reported its suspicion that some players were involved in match-fixing following the state team’s 3-2 loss to Felcra United at the Sarawak Stadium on Feb 10.
