Gang rape in Kluang: Cops send investigation papers to AG

One of the 9 armed forces suspects is victim's boyfriend and victim is now nine weeks pregnant.

Police will submit its investigation papers on the rape of a 17-year-old girl, believed to have involved nine armed forces personnel in Kluang, to the Attorney-General’s Chambers.

Speaking to reporters here today, Johor police chief Mohd Khalil Kader Mohd said the men, aged between 19 and 24 were investigated under Section 375 B of the Penal Code for gang rape which carries a jail term of up to 30 years, if convicted.

He said they were being remanded until March 1.

He said the incident occurred in mid-December last year and it was learned that the armed forces personnel who were from Mahkota Camp, Kluang were detained after the victim lodged a police report at the Kluang Police Station, at about 8.50am on Thursday.

It is understood that one of the suspects is the victim’s boyfriend and the victim is now nine weeks pregnant.
