KUALA LUMPUR:
Invoke is targeting to train at least 20,000 polling and counting agents (Paca) in the upcoming 14th general election.

PKR’s vice-president Rafizi Ramli said their role would be crucial for Pakatan Harapan to monitor any “fraudulent activities” on polling day.

He said so far, he had recruited only 3,000 volunteers.

He said these 3,000 volunteers had undergone Paca training and would be sent to monitor 50 parliamentary and 42 state constituencies, where Pakatan had lost by narrow margins to Barisan Nasional in the peninsula.

“We want to send enough volunteers to these marginal seats so that they can cover any shortcomings in the Pakatan party machinery.

“Our objective is to get more people to sign up,” he said today at Invoke’s National Volunteers Fair 2018.

He urged the volunteers to encourage their family members who had yet to sign up to do so.

With the exception of DAP, which Rafizi said would have its own polling agents, other parties under the opposition coalition (PPBM, Amanah and PKR) were also in urgent need of Paca volunteers.
