
He said MACC officers told him that it might “take days” to record his statement.
So, he told them to wrap it up today as he had a busy week ahead, with Chinese New Year holidays included.
“That is why it took more than 12 hours to record my statement.
“I was not interrogated. I recorded my statements as a witness,” Lim told reporters at 9.55pm today.
It is learnt that Lim was served the notice yesterday to attend the session as a witness.
Deputy Chief Minister II P Ramasamy is expected to present himself to have his statement recorded as a witness tomorrow morning.
MACC deputy commissioner (operations) Azam Baki had earlier confirmed that two Penang executive council members had been asked to give their statements.
He said over 100 witness statements had been recorded, adding that it was a “very technical” investigation.
To date, five arrests have been made in relation to the case.
