
Johor police chief Mohd Khalil Kader Mohd said today the operation was carried out following a murder at the Taman Pelangi Shell Petrol Station on Dec 17.
“The case was solved and our investigation unearthed the gang’s network. All the suspects arrested are Malaysian men aged between 20 and 69.
“Investigations revealed that the gang was active for over 20 years, dealing in drugs, violence and smuggling,” he told a media conference at the Johor Police headquarters here.
Khalil said the Bukit Aman Anti-Money Laundering Investigation Team had also frozen and seized property worth over RM6.5 million belonging to the gang encompassing seven luxury vehicles, four real estate properties, 73 accounts at numerous financial institutions, six branded wristwatches and currency notes of various countries.
