KUALA LUMPUR:
The world is in crisis, and changing the government is not a simple solution to the situation in Malaysia, Communications and Multimedia Minister Salleh Said Keruak warns.

In a blog post last night, he added that Malaysia was doing better than many other countries.

“Pakatan Harapan is telling Malaysians that Malaysia, too, is facing a political and economic crisis and that the only way out is to change the government or replace the prime minister,” he said.

However, he pointed to the US and UK, which he said were both examples of Western democracies going through a political and economic crisis.

Salleh, who is also Umno treasurer, said both governments faced a crisis of confidence and were struggling to remain relevant.

He said changing the government there had not ended the crisis, but made it worse.

“What happens in another part of the world affects Malaysia, which means it is not a simple solution of changing the governments or the prime ministers,” he added.
