
The RM600 and RM60 sets of currency notes were presented by BNM Governor Muhammad Ibrahim in a ceremony attended by Raja Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail.
BNM said in a statement that it was a mark of respect for the contribution of the Conference of Rulers in paving the way for Malaysia’s independence on Aug 31, 1957.
The commemorative banknotes, which were officiated by Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Muhammad V at Sasana Kijang in Bank Negara Malaysia, have been issued in single RM600 notes, uncut three-in-one RM60 notes, and single RM60 notes.
