KUALA LUMPUR: Police will hand over the full report of their investigation into the Jalan Semarak Felda land deal to Attorney-General Mohamed Apandi Ali next week.

Inspector-General of Police Mohamad Fuzi Harun said police were confident of wrapping up the investigation in time.

He said this to reporters after opening the new office of the Aseanapol secretariat at Dewan Tun Abdul Razak here today.

The investigation began after Berita Harian (BH) reported that Felda risked losing ownership of the plot of land worth at least RM270 million after the land title was transferred in a “dubious” transaction in 2015.

Police had said last month the case was being investigated under the Penal Code for cheating and forgery of documents.

According to the BH report, the land title transfer occurred after Felda Investment Corporation (FIC) appointed a local company as the main developer on June 3, 2014 and awarded it full power of attorney to develop the land.

The company allegedly used the power of attorney to transfer the title of the land.

Felda was headed by Isa Samad as chairman until January this year and he was also chairman of FIC at the time the transfer took place.

Isa, the former menteri besar of Negeri Sembilan, was among several people questioned by the police during the investigation.
