“All over the world people overthrow the governnent. I’m not instigating anything. All I’m saying is, when a government is bad, overthrow it,” he told reporters today after hosting the launch of “Harapanbaru; Policy Talks”, a series of dialogues to be held weekly at his Perdana Leadership Foundation.
Yesterday, Umno Youth vice-chief Khairul Azwan Harun said Dr Mahathir was out to instigate Malaysians to topple the present government through non-democratic means.
“This ‘stupid’ boy… he doesn’t understand politics,” the former prime minister said today.
Mahathir said there was nothing wrong working to overthrow the government.
“Of course, I am overthrowing the government, because it is a kleptocratic government. It is a democratic process,” he said. “Even in an authoritarian country, people try to overthrow the government.”
