Woman drives car into convenience store at petrol station

Police say the 19-year-old clerk is believed to have stepped on the accelerator too much, causing the car to slam into the glass panels of the store.

JOHOR BAHRU:
A woman sustained minor injuries after accidentally driving her Proton Saga car into a convenience store at a petrol station in Jalan Pesona, Taman Pelangi Indah, here early today.

Johor Bahru Selatan police chief ACP Shahurinain Jais said in the 1.30am incident, the 19-year-old clerk from Desa Makmur, Kota Tinggi, suffered minor injuries in the face, hands and legs.

“She had gone to the station to fill petrol.

“After filling up, she is believed to have stepped on the accelerator too much, causing the car to slam into the glass panels of the store,” he said in a statement here.

He added that a full investigation was underway.
