He added that he was ready to be sued by the Kota Belud MP for “whatever reason”.
This followed Rafizi’s allegations that the company that landed the contract for the Expo Negaraku 2017 was helmed by Raslan, whom Rafizi identified as Rahman’s brother.
“I apologise to Raslan, but not Rahman Dahlan.
“Rahman Dahlan should be apologising to the people for not doing his job.
“When the prices of goods are going up, he is busy holding an expo.
“To Raslan Dahlan from Pico Integrated, I am ready to apologise (over the allegations),” he said in a press conference at Invoke today.
Yesterday, Rafizi alleged that a huge government contract was awarded to a company headed by a sibling of Rahman. The PKR vice-president was later forced to remove his posts after finding out that the Raslan Dahlan he had named was not Rahman’s elder brother.
Rahman subsequently said he was mulling legal action. To this, Rafizi said he had no qualms, adding that Rahman could not run away from the question of how much was actually spent on the expo.
“It is up to him to sue me, for whatever reason.
“What I had asked him was based on information given by a person in the Economic Planning Unit (EPU), that Raslan Dahlan is his brother.
“So I asked if this is really his brother. That is not defamatory.
“If Rahman Dahlan is not happy about that, then sue me. But don’t run away from the main issue of who paid for the expo, how much it cost and why it is not listed in the procurement system.”
Rafizi said based on his estimation, the expo cost RM34 million.
He also questioned the need for such an expo at a time when people are finding it hard to make ends meet.
Expo Negaraku 2017, a month-long exhibition, began on Nov 15. It showcases infrastructure projects, including the controversial Bandar Malaysia project.
