KUALA LUMPUR: Selangor Umno Sungai Besar division chief Jamal Yunos has predicted that “millions of voters” will return to Barisan Nasional (BN) to help it win the 14th general election and recapture Selangor from Pakatan Harapan (PH).

He said BN needed everyone they could get in reference to controversial celebrity Azwan Ali’s presence alongside him today at Putra World Trade Centre, the venue of Umno’s annual general assembly.

“We need everyone in Selangor to help us win back the state.

“Now, one by one, people of Selangor are coming back to Barisan Nasional to support us in the coming election,” he said.

He said the presence of Azwan was just a sample of the people supporting BN.

“Today was just a sample of one person that is helping us, millions more will come back to support BN, its leadership and Prime Minister Najib Razak.”

Jamal also commented on Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin’s speech at the youth wing’s conference today that centred on PH chairman Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s “iron-fisted rule” when he was prime minister.

“Khairy’s message was targeted at the youth to explain to them what is happening in the country.

“I hope the youth can take the time to appreciate what was said by Khairy as it is the truth.

“Do not support a leader that is almost like a god to some people. Instead, support a leader who is honestly fighting for the people. I hope the youth will listen to Khairy’s speech over and over again.”
