Azmin’s nephew nabbed in graft probe, RM4 million frozen

The arrest is part of a probe into illegal sand-mining activities in Selangor.

PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has arrested a nephew of Selangor Menteri Besar Mohamed Azmin Ali and two others in the ongoing probe into illegal mining in the state.

A source told FMT that the 34-year-old who is believed to be a manager of a company in Ampang, was arrested at his home yesterday.

He will be brought to Putrajaya this morning for remand.

It is learnt that some RM4 million in bank accounts of a mining company was also frozen.

The investigation revolves around allegations that the company had bribed local authorities not to take action against its illegal sand-mining activities.
