PETALING JAYA:
Health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah today warned of a fake Facebook account created by an imposter who used it to obtain money from social media users.

He said the fake account under the name “Abdullah Hisham Noor” was not his.

“Kindly be informed that my personal Facebook account is Hisham Abdullah (https://www.facebook.com/drnoorhisham) and the page is Noor Hisham Abdullah (https://www.facebook.com/DGHisham/).

“The imposter who utilised this fake account has been sending personal messages to numerous people asking for money and sending seductive texts to our nurses,” he said in a statement on his Facebook page.

Noor Hisham advised those who had fallen prey to the imposter to lodge a police report and complain to Facebook.

He added that he had also lodged a report asking Facebook to take down the fake page.

“Please be careful that in this day and age, we have a full range of information, but more importantly we must be informed and aware of what is accurate and what is fake.”
